Production Overview

Key Stages of
Production

Every custom FRP planter from Glastres Greens follows a rigorous, multi-stage manufacturing process designed to deliver structural integrity, surface quality and long-term durability. Our Bengaluru factory combines traditional hand-layup craftsmanship with modern quality control systems.

01

Design & Mould Making

We work from architect drawings or create custom designs. High-quality moulds are produced to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatable surface finish across production runs.

02

Gelcoat Application

A minimum 15–20 MIL layer of UV-stabilized tooling gelcoat is applied to the mould. This becomes the durable, weather-resistant outer surface of the finished planter.

03

Structural Lamination

Multiple layers of fiberglass mat and resin are hand-laid to achieve the required wall thickness and structural strength while keeping weight to a minimum.

04

Curing, Demoulding & QC

After curing, planters are carefully demoulded, trimmed, inspected and finished. Every planter undergoes quality control before packaging and dispatch.

Polymer Matrix Specification

We utilize high-grade isophthalic polyester resins rather than cheaper orthophthalic variants. This ensures superior resistance to water permeation, blistering, and chemical degradation from fertilizers, guaranteeing structural longevity.

Master Tooling Precision

Our in-house master pattern makers translate CAD drawings into physical molds with tolerances of ±2mm. This precision allows for flawless modular installations, ensuring continuous linear alignments in commercial spaces.

Quality Assurance (QA/QC)

Beyond visual inspection, our structural lamination process is calibrated to meet strict flexural strength requirements (ASTM D790). Walls are engineered to resist root pressure expansion and immense hydrostatic soil loads.
